Manitoba has now issued 3,705 invitations to PNP candidates since the start of 2021.
A total of 141 Manitoba immigration candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination on June 17.
If they successfully receive the nomination from the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), it will support their final application for Canadian permanent residence.
Skilled worker candidates needed to have profiles in Manitoba’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system in order to be invited. The the results of the latest draw are as follows:
• Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 95 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 430;
• Skilled Workers Overseas — 24 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 703; and
• International Education Stream — 22 invitations with no EOI score requirement.
A total of 10 invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), went to Express Entry candidates.
The new draw is very similar to the previous MPNP draw when the province issued just one more invitation for a total of 142 candidates.
Express Entry is the main way Canada manages skilled worker applications. You can skip the PNP process and apply for permanent residence to the federal government through the Express Entry system.
Not everyone who is a good fit for Manitoba’s labour market will necessarily have a high Express Entry score. Enter the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). It allows provinces to nominate candidates in the Express Entry pool. Provincial nominees automatically get 600 points toward their overall score, which gives them a sure-shot at receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
