Express Entry: CRS 401 in new CEC draw

Canada held another Express Entry round of invitations with a low score requirement on May 13.

Candidates who had scores of at least 401, just one point more than the previous comparable draw, and who had submitted their Express Entry profile before April 29, 2021, at 11:48:14 UTC, were Invited.

By Canadian Experience Class (CEC), It means candidates should have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, and intermediate language proficiency in English or French.

Out of the total target of 4,01,000 New Permanent Residents in 2021, IRCC has already sent invites to over 70,000 Candidates in the first quarter of this year. The rate of invitation issuance is far more than the previous year`s figure of 30,000 - 40,000 newcomers.

The pace itself shows Mr Trudeau`s Government`s resolve to meet the targets set. This is by far the most ambitious plan of CANADA. The Country is eyeing to welcome even more new PR holders in 2022 & 2023.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and resultant travel restrictions, the Country is focusing on converting Temporary Residents to Permanent Residence. By targeting Individuals currently in the country, CANADA is aiming smartly to meet its annual target of newcomers. Once things start to get back to normal, CANADA would focus on Foreign nationals too and that should bring the flux of fresh invitations. Those already in the pool would benefit from these invitations for Foreign Nationals.
